Ciarán Dalton is a licensed clinical psychologist and sport psychologist who brings a variety of experience to therapy.
I graduated from Immaculata University with my doctorate in clinical psychology, which included internship experiences where I provided individual/group therapy and psychological testing at Media Counseling Services, Northwest Human Services, and Rowan University. Upon graduating, I began working for Media Counseling Services and in the spring of 2013 I started my private practice which provides individual therapy, team therapy, and different presentations. I earned my bachelor's degree in special education from Millersville University and my master's degree from Temple University in education.
In addition to being a psychologist, I was the primary emotional support teacher (2000-2008) and am currently the behavior specialist for the Interboro School District. In these positions, I specialized in behavior modification for students with concerns related to non-compliance, inattention, distractibility, poor social skills, anxiety, depression, Autism, anger, physical aggression, and self-injury. I work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and school administrators to develop and implement effective behavior plans. I provide therapy to individuals looking to maximize their performance in whichever endeavor they chose. This type of therapy is often delivered to athletes, but it can be beneficial for anyone looking to improve performance, such as business men/women, different artists, students, parents... Sometimes we encounter psychological obstacles that prevent us from reaching our fullest potential. These obstacles can stem from self-doubt, negative thinking, previous life experiences, and concern that we are being judged negatively by others, which can cause performance hindering anxiety, fear, and/or depression. I can help explore the factors contributing of these issues and develop individually tailored strategies to get you working past barriers and help reach your, sport, professional, and personal goals.
My ability to connect with others and quickly put them at ease helps clients work through the initial worry associated with entering into therapy. I understand that making the decision to see a therapist can be a frightening venture and therefore I work diligently to make clients feel comfortable by treating them with respect in a non-judgmental way.
